Mtunzini - "A Place in the Shade" - is situated on the North Coast of KwaZulu Natal. Declared a Conservancy in 1995, Mtunzini is only 45 kilometres from Richards Bay and 108 kilometres from King Shaka International Airport, and offers a peaceful retreat from everyday city and working life.

The village boasts sea views from the main streets and features a local Spar; numerous cafe's, quirky shops, bottle stores, pharmacies, and restaurants, as well as a post office and police station.
Mtunzini Primary School is well known not only for its academic achievement and for the excellent sportsmen and women to graduate, but also for its aesthetic attributes; which include sea views from the sports grounds and classrooms as well as top class playing fields, swimming pool and air conditioned classrooms.
Numerous local events gather locals and tourists together throughout the year, among them being the famous Couta Classic, hosted by the Umlalazi Ski Boat club and the Annual "Beach Blast", a 3 day, supervised, Easter extravaganza hosted on the local beach by the Mtunzini Christian Fellowship, open to local children and tourists alike.  The Mtunzini Athletic Club hosts an annual 16-km Bush Run as well as the mountain-bike Mtunzini Classic.
Mtunzini's beach and lagoon area, situated within the Umlalazi Nature Reserve,  continue to entertain and fascinate people of all ages, and the slipway remains a popular gathering place for sundowners in the evening. Home to our very own Zebra, Palm Nut Vulture, Fish Eagle, Pickersgill Reed Frog, and other fascinating animal species, as well as a host of birdlife, Zini is sure to capture the heart of everyone who visits. The outdoor life of Mtunzini offers a spectacular nine hole golf course; numerous water sports; hiking trails along the banks of the uMlalazi and Siyayi River and world renowned deep sea fishing.   The town also offers a bowling green and tennis courts.

And at the end of the day Mtunzini enjoys the privilege of watching the magnificent sunset over the Ngoye mountains.

This village is paradise personified - suited to people from all walks of life, be it young families, busy professionals or the retired.  Centrally located, you will always be within driving distance of work or entertainment.
